THE WEATHERMAN documentary follows meteorologist Chris Gloninger as he reports on the link between extreme weather and climate change on Iowa’s local news station, KCCI - until his dream job turns into a nightmare. Through an investigation told in true-crime cinematic fashion, the feature captures the escalation from a viewer’s violent messages to a police investigation and criminal conviction. Chris' story is only the beginning as we journey with him to uncover a disturbing pattern of intimidation, misinformation, censorship, and defunding efforts aimed at silencing meteorologists, and ultimately, jeopardizing the well-being of a nation. 

Roughly every 19 days, a billion-dollar extreme weather and climate disaster occurs in the United States. Insurance costs are skyrocketing if not wholesale dropping communities; supercharged hurricanes are reaching towns 200 miles inland; and devastating floods are taking lives because the public is not hearing the urgency and effects of the climate crisis. When we should be trusting and investing more in the experts who keep us safe, we've seen cuts: to NOAA, to climate research, and to media coverage of climate change.
